Megan Erskine – Centre Manager
Bachelor of Education

IMG_4403Since 2000 I have been attending City Impact Church and working in our wonderful Care and Education Centres. Prior to that, I studied at the Dunedin College of education to achieve my Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood.

It is a privilege to work for City Impact Church Care and Education and to have the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated teachers who daily aspire to provide quality care and education for children in a  Christian environment.

My desire is that our centres offer a place where children and their families feel welcome, cared for and valued, as well as providing an inspirational learning environment that is fun and exciting, filled with lots of opportunities that meet each individual child’s interests and needs. I believe that every child has unlimited potential, therefore it is important that they are encouraged so they become confident in who they have been created to be.

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education

IMG_6795I have been working in the Early Childhood Sector for 6 years. I enjoy working with all ages and I am very passionate about each stage of children’s development and fostering this. I studied at New Zealand Tertiary College and hold a Bachelor of Education (ECE).

I love working at City Impact Church Care and Education Centre and count it an honour to be teaching the next generation. I believe each member of our team brings something unique and together we create a rich stimulating environment where children can play, make friends, be creative and have opportunities to learn based on their interests. I wholeheartedly believe in the biblical curriculum that we teach and love watching the children grow, knowing who they are in God and having the tools they need to succeed in life. I look forward to meeting you.

IMG_6761My passion for teaching young minds inspires me to work in an Early Childhood Centre. I have been working for City Impact Church Care and Education Centre since February 2010.  It is such a blessing to be a part of this committed team of educators who make learning a joy for the children. I believe in providing the best quality care and education centred on the love and truth of Christ. It is my passion and goal to help children flourish into becoming well-rounded, responsible and respectable individuals.

Annelie Ries

I have always known that it is my calling to work with children and have been working with them for the past 6 years. Children open your eyes to a whole new level of unconditional love, an unconditional love that is always shown without judgement. Since moving to New Zealand from South Africa in July 2012, I have been working at City Impact Church Care and Education and count it an honour to work at this amazing centre.

Lorinda Smith
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching)

After 10 years of working in the insurance broking industry, it was time for me to make a change in order to pursue my God given passion for children. I completed my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching) at AUT University at the end of 2013. It has been a great blessing to join the teaching team at City Impact Church Care and Education Centre in July 2014 where I can teach using the integrated biblical curriculum.

I really enjoy developing fun loving relationships with children and it is a privilege having a role to play in their care and education as they grow into the precious individuals God has created them to be. It is important to me to recognize every child has different learning styles and needs and I believe it is our role as teachers to offer creative ways to help the children fulfill their potential.

IMG_6743 I have three sons and five grandchildren whom I love dearly and enjoy spending as much time with as possible. While they were growing up I enjoyed teaching in kid’s church and that is where I became interested in becoming and early childhood teacher. I am a fully qualified and registered teacher and have been teaching for over fourteen years now and it has been a privilege to teach at City Impact Care and Education Centre since 2010. I love this gift that God has given me, especially being able to pass on my faith and knowledge of Gods word to the children. Helping to equip them with the skills that they will need to give them a hope and a future.

Ellie Bachelor

My name is Ellie and I have a passion for helping young children grow and learn. I’m always so excited to come to work to teach as the children make it worth my while. I enjoy listening to their new discoveries and observing their talents and skills as they develop through exploring what they like in terms of art, sport, activities, and also how they communicate with their peers. Young children are our future and it’s very exciting to know that as their teacher I helped shape them. I love seeing the great potential in each child as I get to know them personally and I know God has a really great plan for every one of them too.

As I further my study in early childhood I will be able to practise what I learn from my studies with the children and be the best teacher that I can be for them through Christ.
